Lemongrass Tea 香茅茶



Lemongrass is well-known for its culinary and medicinal purposes. Commonly used in Asian, especially Thai, Vietnamese and Indian cooking. It aids digestion, has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, and boasts of many other health benefits.

It makes a perfect drink on a cold day.....what a light and refreshing fragrance!


LEMONGRASS TEA RECIPE
Makes 4 glasses

Ingredients:
3 stalks of lemongrass
1300 ml (about 1.4 qt) water
Honey (to taste)
Juice from 2 limes
Ice (optional)


Bruise 3 stalks of lemongrass and chop each stalk into 4 parts. Add lemongrass and water to a pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, turn to medium-low heat and simmer for 20 minutes. When done, add honey and lime juice to taste.

On a hot day, allow the tea to cool down then add some ice and enjoy.
